The regular rebalance of the UP Index, which fell on 27 January, included update of the Free Float Factor (RFF), Reduction Gas Ratio (RGR), and Concanetation Coefficient (CC). There was no change in UPI constituents – the index covers nineteen companies and partnerships from the LNG Shipping sector worldwide. Please look at the new weight of constituents.
The rebalance also included the use of data from our LNG Vessels database. Mainly the change included updating the number of vessels per company and partnerships. Many vessels are owned through joint venture companies where a different number of companies participate in the ownership of one ship. The database allows us to focus entirely on this sector and constantly increase UPI´s accuracy to reflect the actual state of this great industry as faithfully as possible.
